| Iximche consists of several plazas surrounded by temples, palaces, and ceremonial platforms. Part of the ruins were explored and excavated from 1960 to 1972, other parts are still buried under lush vegetation. | ![]() |

The archaeological site of Iximche also hosts a museum that's open daily. Besides models and maps of the ruins, sculptures and ceramics found during the excavations are on display. |
