Hotels in Antigua, Guatemala:
Hotel Casa de los Cantaros
Hotel Casa de los Cantaros is an authentic colonial mansion that will take you right back into the 16th century. The owner's family came to the New World with the Spanish conquistadores and in 1597 built this residence in the heart of Antigua, just one block from the park.
When John Lloyd Stephens, whose travelogue Incidents of Travel in Yucatan, Chiapas and Central America brought the lost civilization of the Mayas to the attention of the world and set off the first wave of archaeological exploration of the Mayan ruins, visited Antigua in the early 1840s, he stayed in this house. At the time, the current owner's great-great-grandfather was one of the largest coffee growers in Central America.
Hotel Casa de los Cantaros features a fascinating garden full of wonderful tropical plants and beautiful corridors, which give guests an ambiance of peace and tranquility in the heart of Antigua. The well-trained staff will be happy to take care of all your needs.
Hotel Casa de los Cantaros is a small but fine hotel with three guest rooms. The rooms are beautifully decorated and equipped with antique furniture, and each room has a private bathroom.
