Adventure Tours in Guatemala:
Volcano Tours
Guatemala is located on the boundary of two tectonic plates, which makes it a geologically very active area. More than 30 active, dormant and extinct volcanoes can be found in Guatemala. Some volcanoes are in remote areas and hard to access, while others, like the Pacaya volcano, are close to major population centers and easy to climb.
We offer tours to Guatemala's most fascinating volcanoes. All tours include transportation and a professional guide who will take you to the best spots and always keep your safety in mind.
Pacaya Tours
The Pacaya Volcano is without doubt Guatemala's most popular volcano due to its easy accessibility from Guatemala City and Antigua. With a height of only 2,500 meters (8,200 ft) above sea level, it is relatively easy to climb and affords a truly spectacular view from the top.
We can arrange both private tours and tours in a larger group. With a private tour, you'll have a guide all to yourself, what makes the tour more interesting and flexible, and you'll have private transportation too.
All tours include:
- Round-trip transportation from Antigua Guatemala
- Hiking with guide and security

Private night tours begin at 3 pm and are timed so you'll be at the summit after dark. Weather permitting, you'll see a spectacular sunset and with a bit of luck you'll catch a glimpse of the glowing lava inside of the crater. The tour lasts approximately seven hours and you will return to Antigua Guatemala around 10 pm.
Price: US$69.00 per person, minimum 2 persons
Group Tours
Group tours leave Antigua Guatemala every day at 1 pm and return between 8 and 9 pm.

Acatenango Tours
Standing 3,976 meters (13,040 ft) tall, the Acatenango volcano is one of Central America's highest volcanoes. It is located just a few miles southwest of Antigua, what makes it easily accessible.
Acatenango's last eruption was in 1972 and the volcano is dormant at this time, so you can climb all the way to the summit. During the hike to the top, you'll pass through entirely different ecosystems — first farmland, then cloud forest, then high alpine forest and finally through the volcanic zone to the very summit.
We can arrange private day trips and two-day tours from Antigua Guatemala to the Acatenango volcano. All tours include round-trip transportation and a professional guide who has climbed the Acatenango many times and knows every nook and cranny.
Private Day Tours
Private day tours leave Antigua Guatemala at 5 am and return around 5 pm. Lunch at the summit is included.
Price: US$55.00 per person, minimum 2 persons
Private Two-Day Tours
With a private two-day tour, you'll spend the night at Acatenango's summit and have the chance to watch a spectacular sunset and sunrise from almost 4,000 meters. Tents, pads, sleeping bags, lunch, dinner and breakfast are provided.
Price: US$79.00 per person, minimum 2 persons
