Adventure Tours in Guatemala:

Deep Sea Fishing on the Pacific Ocean

Deep sea fishing on the Pacific Ocean is a great adventure you won't forget anytime soon!

Guatemala’s Pacific Coast “Fishing at its Best”
Guatemala holds many secret treasures that are not apparent at first sight, and it is always a treat as gem after gem is unveiled with the more time you spend here. One special discovery is the large underwater canyon called “The Pocket”, located just off the Pacific Coast. With strong ever changing currents and a healthy supply of nutrients, predator fish, such as the sailfish come in to hunt these rich waters. Thus, with waters as prime as these, you just might have one of the best days of fishing in your life. Our boat Captains know the waters and the ins and outs of sport fishing. The prime season for sailfish is October-June; the marlin season is September-December. However, with the unpredictable currents and the unique canyon “Pocket” just off the coast, fishing for sailfish, dorado (mahimahi), yellow-fin tuna and marlin is always pretty good. Guatemala gives many people the thrill of catching and releasing a big 100-pound sailfish, once you experience the adrenaline rush of that big fish on the end of your line, you’ll be smiling from ear to ear, hoping for the chance to do it again and again. A day out on the water sport fishing can be a fun and exhilarating change of pace for experienced fishermen and women and novices alike. That salty ocean breeze, a fresh ceviche lunch and great photo opportunities make a trip down to the Pacific coast a worthwhile experience for anyone who comes to Guatemala.

Guatemala's Pacific coast consistently produces huge quantities of Sailfish, most of which are over 100 pounds. Other fish we regularly catch are Dorado, also known as Mahi Mahi or Dolphin Fish; Gallo fish, which are a coastal sports fish unique to the tropical Pacific coast; Bonito and the occasional Yellow Fin Tuna.

Besides fishing you will also have a good chance to see other wildlife such as turtles, dolphins, birds and sometimes whales.

Our fishing trips are environmentally friendly! Guatemala is one of the only countries that prohibit taking sailfish and require the use of circle hooks for sports fishing.

Our boat is a 30 foot catamaran, which is more stable than the traditional "V" hull boats.

The boat is equipped with a VHF, life jackets, GPS and radar. The fishing equipment is new and top of the line Shimano equipment, specifically 2x20tld, 2x30tld, 1x50tld, 4x6500 spinners.

Great Adventure for the Entire Family

Deep sea fishing is a great adventure for all age groups from children to senior citizens. Going sports fishing with your family will be one of the most exciting experiences you will have with the kids. They will remember the time they spent fishing on the Pacific Ocean with you for many years to come.
